Jakarta Old Town Tour (Stadhuis of Batavia )

Museum Fatahilah/Museum Sejarah Jakarta/Museum Batavia is one of the many interesting tourist spot at Jakarta.

the building has the unique architecture and looks like Dam Palace in Holland maybe because it was a Stadhuis of Batavia (Jakarta), as we know that Batavia is the one of the most important city for VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie).

In this museum you can find many relics of VOC (Paintings, Classic cabinet, Old Chair, ancient bed, etc), so you can feel that you're in that place hundreds years ago.

( Pieter Zoen Coen Painting, Hermes Statue, Dutch Classic Cabinet)

One other interesting thing is the dungeon prison, can you imagine in the past it was the wet crowded dungeon with many people died before trial.

Tips:

The easy way to reach this place from the heart of Jakarta (Thamrin & Sudirman) is by using Transjakarta, using Taxi is also good choice

Visit the other museums around that place

The night view of the building is so wonderful so take your time to enjoy it
